Cass County crash sends 1 to hospital
BEMIDJI—A Bemidji man escaped serious injury in a two-car crash Tuesday evening in Cass County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash was reported at 5:16 p.m. on U.S. Highway 2 at 65th Avenue Northwest in Pike Bay Township. The Patrol said a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jon Hodgson, 50, of Bemidji, was westbound on Highway 2 when a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Derek Winslow, 32, of Cass Lake, failed to yield and the cars collided at 65th Avenue Northwest.
Hodgson was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said. Winslow and a 27-year-old male passenger and a 26-year-old female passenger were not injured.
All those involved in the collision were wearing seatbelts, the Patrol said, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Also responding to the crash were the Cass County Sheriff's Office and Leech Lake Tribal Police.
