The Polk County Sheriff’s Office have released details of a response to reported domestic violence that ended the discovery of a man dead in a rural home near Crookston.
According to a report released early on Saturday morning, a sheriff’s deputy arrived at a home near Crookston at 9:35 p.m. to investigate a domestic violence call. When the deputy “attempted to make contact,” the report states, a gunshot rang out from inside the home.
“The deputy located and removed the reporting party and her daughter from the residence,” the report states. “They were medically checked and released.”
The report describes a man found in a bedroom inside the home, dead, with a single gunshot wound. It does not describe the weapon or state who fired it.
An official with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said further details were not immediately available.
