Three local salons, including Bemidji Hairstyling Center, Classic Cuts and The Hair Affair, recently made donations to the Sanford Health Foundation of Northern Minnesota in support of the Edith Sanford Breast Center in Bemidji. The support will provide mammograms to women in the community who cannot afford them.

The donations came from the "Pink Hair I Care" initiative. During October, clients were encouraged to support the fight against breast cancer with a streak of pink hair. Clip-in or temporary pink hair streaks were offered at the three salons, with proceeds benefitting the Edith Sanford Breast Center in Bemidji. Anyone interested in supporting the foundation can call (218) 333-5515.
