State Trooper receives Enforcement Star Award

ST. PAUL -- Thief River Falls-based Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Brad Norland was among 10 individuals and organizations honored by Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths for their work to improve traffic safety. The awards were announced at the statewide Toward Zero Deaths conference Oct. 26-27 in St. Paul. Norland received the Enforcement Star Award.

Toward Zero Deaths Star Awards are given annually to recognize those who display excellence in enforcement, emergency medical and trauma services, education, engineering, child passenger safety and judicial/court systems, according to a press release.          

Norland contributes to public safety through his involvement in community education, proactive enforcement and group leadership skills, the press release said.

The Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths program is an interdisciplinary partnership with the state departments of Health, Transportation and Public Safety. For more information about the program, including a full list of award recipients, visit www.minnesotatzd.org.
