House votes to end government shutdown, sending legislation to Trump

Taste of Northern Minnesota offers local flavor

BEMIDJI – The annual Taste of Northern Minnesota event will feature many familiar faces, but also some new ones.

Seating times for the event are 4 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Thursday at the George W. Neilson Convention Center. Tickets for the first session are $14 and $16 for the second one.

Seniors and students with an ID will pay $12. All tickets are $2 more when paid at the door, but can be purchased at both Lueken’s Village Foods locations, Market Place Foods and the tourist information center.

Denise Anderson, the special events coordinator for the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, said more than 20 vendors are slated to appear this year. That list includes, Tutto Bene, Green Mill and Sparkling Waters.

Anderson said many of the vendors are returning from previous years. But one notable newcomer is Bemidji Brewing Co., which has been brewing its beer out of Harmony Co-op’s community kitchen for Brigid’s Pub.

In addition to a long menu, the event will feature $1,350 worth of door prizes and almost $4,000 worth of raffle prizes.
