The Bemidji Pioneer was once again challenged this year by the Grand Forks Herald to partake in a holiday food challenge. If you recall last year, the Herald challenged Pioneer staffers to eat lutefisk and document the event on video or donate to the Herald's Santa Claus Girls charity. The challenge was accepted and the Pioneer then challenged other Forum Communications Co. entities to take part or donate to the Bemidji Community Food Shelf.

This year, the challenge "delicacy" was Pickled Herring. As you can see by the video, the Pioneer was more than up to the challenge.

The Pioneer has once again selected the Bemidji Community Food Shelf as our donation of choice and we have now challenged Forum News Service and the Detroit Lakes Tribune and Becker County Record to take the Pickled Herring Challenge or send donations to Bemidji Community Food Shelf at 1260 Industrial Park Dr SE, Bemidji, MN 56601.
