St. Bartholomew's Church to celebrate 100 years Aug. 26

In preparation of celebrating the centennial of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, members had a steeple custom made to hold a historic 1884 bell installed Thursday morning. BEMIDJI - St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will hold its centennial celebration Aug. 26, marking 100 years of mission and ministry.

The event will begin with Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. with the Right Rev. Brian N. Prior as celebrant.

The dedication of the new bell tower will take place at 11:30 a.m., followed at 11:45 a.m. by the announcement of the quilt raffle winner.

A free community picnic will begin at noon on the front lawn. Pelican Railroad acoustic ensemble will provide live music.

The church is also collecting school supplies in the narthex for distribution for needy families on Aug. 30
