Police Report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:


11:30 p.m. Sunday, 1000 block of Birchmont Drive Northeast and Dewey Avenue. A 21-year-old man was arrested driving while intoxicated after driving into dumpsters in an alley.


4:56 p.m. 400 block of Bemidji Avenue North. Two vehicles collided while attempting to get gas.

10:08 a.m. Saturday, 700 block of Third Street Southeast. A mother wanted to report her son was struck by a vehicle.


4:13 p.m. Sunday, Jack'Stop. Gas drive-off of $58.15.

7:56 p.m. Saturday, 1600 block of 23rd Street Northwest. A bicycle was stolen.


12:26 p.m. Sunday, Bemidji Regional Airport. A fire reportedly ignited in some landscaping.


8:28 a.m. Sunday, Second Street Northwest. Officers received a report of an assault.

Peace disturbance

6:59 p.m. Saturday, 700 block of 10th Street Northwest. Loud music complaint.


10:12 a.m. Saturday, 2400 block of Middle School Drive Northwest. A small amount of marijuana was found in the parking lot and turned into customer service.

Disorderly conduct

10:12 a.m. Saturday, 400 block of Bemidji Avenue North. A 56-year-old man was arrested for theft and disorderly conduct.

Property damages

6:35 a.m. Saturday, 600 block of 21st Street Northwest. Eggs were thrown at a house.

2:20 a.m. Saturday, Third Street Northwest. A man removed a tulip plant from a flower bed in front of a bank. He replanted the plant back into the flower bed.

Weapon offense

12 a.m. Saturday, 1500 block of Bixby Avenue Northeast. Shots were reportedly fired. Officers determined the source to be bottle bombs.

Sheriff's Report

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:


9:17 p.m. Sunday, Bemidji. A caller stated there was a large fire and fireworks in Little Norway trailer park. Deputies located a campfire burning a three-foot fire ring and legal fireworks.

10:34 p.m. Saturday, 3400 block of Pine Circle Court Southwest. A caller reported gunfire. A deputy spoke to residents who stated they had lit fireworks. The residents were warned about fire restrictions and fireworks.


4:21 p.m. Sunday, U.S. Highway 2. Two-vehicle accident involving personal injury was handled by the Minnesota State Patrol.

Peace disturbances

9:05 p.m. Saturday, Greenleaf Avenue Northwest. Fireworks were reported, but deputies found no one to be in the area.

2:23 a.m. Saturday, Carr Lake Road Southeast. A party was broken up.

Welfare check

8 p.m. Saturday, Little Norway Avenue Southeast. Deputies checked on three people walking north after one of them had allegedly urinated on the roadway. A 41-year-old man was arrested for violating a no-drink order.


8:55 a.m. Saturday, 24700 block of One Mile Road Northeast, Blackduck. The driver of a suspicious vehicle that was reported was cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance. The driver was later arrested by a federal agent from the U.S. Border Patrol for being an illegal immigrant and a felon barred from entering the United States.

1:14 a.m. Saturday, Meadow Court Northeast. A caller reported a man and woman fighting next door. The noise was found to be individuals playing a game of beer pong.
