Police Report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following reports:

Gasoline drive-off

11:05 p.m. Friday, Petro Serve. Driver contacted and paid for gas.

6:30 p.m. Friday, Petro Serve.

6:19 a.m. Friday, Petro Serve.


9:56 p.m. Friday, 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. Male took five drink mix packets from store.


9:21 p.m. Friday, 3100 block of Silver Circle Northwest. Secured one unlocked community room and one unlocked vacant apartment.

2:20 p.m. Friday, Third Street Southwest. Male juveniles were running through yards. Returned to parent.

12:33 a.m. Friday, 1300 block of Washington Avenue South. Intoxicated man was confused about where he was. He was given a ride home.


7:58 p.m. Friday, Walmart. Shoplifter,


3:59 p.m. Friday, Paul Bunyan Drive near Kmart. Rear-end collision.


3:08 p.m. Friday, 1200 block of Third Street Southwest. Report of theft and damage of solar yard lights.

2:56 p.m. Friday, Walmart. Three shoplifters.

Welfare check

2:19 p.m. Friday, Blue Ox Trail. Check welfare of homeless family who apparently are living in the woods.


2:17 p.m. Friday, Report of dog running at large. Dog located, impounded and placed in city pound.

8:21 a.m. Friday, 800 block of Third Street Southeast. Cat running at large was impounded and placed in city pound.

Five puppies were also located last week on Power Dam Road and Grotte Avenue and brought to the Beltrami County Law Enforcement Center. They are also in the pound. Pictures of these and other impounded animals are online at the city pound website.

Escape from custody

1:18 p.m. Friday, Beltrami County Jail.

Disorderly conduct

12:12 p.m. Friday, Jefferson Avenue Southwest and Wee Gwaus Road Southwest. Report of kids spitting off the Jefferson bridge. Gone on arrival and unable to locate.

11:58 a.m. Friday, Lakeview Drive Southwest. Officer assisted deputy regarding a complaint of a reckless motorcycle driver and threats.

12:11 a.m. Friday, 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. Report of a noise complaint. Officers found the apartment quiet, and no one came to the door.


10:34 p.m. Friday, 100 block of Minnesota Avenue Northwest. Report of verbal domestic. Officers could not locate the complaint and no one answered door.


Officers responded to an open line 911 cell phone call. Could not find anyone in duress. Parties in the area reported they did not notice anything out of the ordinary.

2:33 a.m., 700 block of 31st Street Northwest. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the source of the call.

Security check

8:51 a.m. Friday, Walmart. Officers performed walk-through to look for a juvenile runaway who was reported at 8:26 a.m. to have left Oshki Manidoo Mitigomizh.


5:16 a.m. Friday, Summit Square Apartments. A smoldering towel was located in a bathroom of an apartment. Cause of the fire is unknown. All occupants were fine.

12:11 a.m. Friday, 1900 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest. Verbal warning given for campfire larger than allowed.

Disorderly conduct

2:07 a.m. Friday, Toasty Beavers. Crowd was dispersed. No further action taken.

12:44 a.m. Friday, 1000 block of Washington Avenue South. Two women were arrested.

Sheriff's Office

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following reports:


10:38 p.m. Friday, 7500 block of Old Long Lake Road Northwest. Caller recognized an email scam.


10:27 p.m. Friday, 10600 block of Autumn Drive Northwest. Caller reported egging of picture window. No damage.


7:19 p.m. Friday, 1100 block of Firetrail Lane Southwest. Complain of a loud explosion. Deputies checked area. Unable to locate anything. Hubbard County Sheriff's office made aware of complaint.


5:56 p.m. Friday, Highway 2 North, Solway. Assisted Minnesota State Patrol at single-vehicle property damage accident. Driver arrested by State Patrol for DWI. Vehicle seized pending forfeiture.

Vehicle complaint

11:58 a.m. Friday, Lakeview Drive Southwest. Road-rage situation with verbal altercation. All were given warnings for behavior.


11:14 a.m. Friday, Centerline Road Northwest, Pinewood. Small fire. Minnesota Department of Natural Resources was able to extinguish fire with no issues. No one was in the area.


9:19 a.m. Friday, 2700 block of Marion Drive Southeast. Reporting party learned he was the victim of identity theft.

12:59 p.m. Saturday, 200 block of Mississippi Avenue Northwest. Medical.

12:46 p.m. Saturday, 1600 block of 23rd Street Northwest. Medical.

7:23 p.m. Friday, 900 block of 30th Street Northwest. Medical.

3:37 p.m. Friday, Clearwater Lake. Thirteen firefighters responded to rescue after boat capsized on Clearwater Lake.

12:34 p.m. Friday, Fifth Street and Beltrami Avenue Northwest. Medical.

12:24 p.m. Friday, First Lutheran Church. Medical.

5:54 a.m. Friday, 1000 block of Miles Avenue Southeast. Medical.

5:16 a.m. Friday, Summit Square Apartments. Fire in bathroom.

2:55 p.m. Friday, 1700 block of Delton Avenue Northwest. Medical.
