Police Report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:

Peace disturbance

8:45 p.m. Monday, 1200 block of Bemidji Avenue North. Someone was playing a guitar in a garage.


8:32 a.m. Monday, Bemidji State University's Memorial Hall. A desktop computer was stolen and a door was damaged.

7:35 a.m. Monday, 700 block of 15th Street Northwest. Theft from a vehicle was reported.

Property damage

7 a.m. Monday, 1300 block of Washington Avenue South. A building had been shot at by a paintball gun.


2:06 a.m. Monday, 900 block of Washington Avenue South. Possible group fighting.

Sheriff's Report

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:

Weapon offense

11:46 p.m. Monday, Jefferson Avenue Southwest. Possible gun shots were reported. Found to be a metal roof making a loud noise when flexing in the wind.


10:35 p.m. Monday, Puposky. Possible drug transaction sent via text message. Forwarded to the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force.


7:09 p.m. Monday, Big Buzzle Road Northwest. Daytime burglary. Multiple items were missing, including electronics and a rifle.

2:01 p.m. Monday, U.S. Highway 2 West. An Eckles Township building was entered and copper piping was taken. The building sustained a great deal of damage to piping and sheetrock.

11:47 a.m. Monday, Irvine Avenue Northwest. Items were stolen from a building.

7:48 a.m. Monday, 16th Street Southwest. A Bemidji Township resident reported theft of coin change from his residence over the weekend.


3:07 p.m. Monday, Danish Lane Northwest. A grass fire was extinguished by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

7:12 a.m. Monday, Balsam Road Northwest. A smoldering fire was manned with water in place.

Property damage

12:55 p.m. Monday, Grange Road Northwest. A padlock was cut off a gate. Nothing was damaged or missing.


7:33 a.m. Monday, Wilton Hill Road Northwest. Two buckets containing rusty nails of all sizes, fishing lures and other garbage was found down the center of County Road 14. The County Highway Department assisted with the cleanup. No evidence was collected to further follow-up on the dumping complaint.
