Week of Nov. 15-18

TUESDAY, Nov. 15 - Hamburger, baked beans, fries, mixed fruit, milk variety.

THURSDAY, Nov. 17 - Meatballs in gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, pears, frozen juice gar, dinner roll, milk variety.

Scholarships available

Scholarships available in the high school office:

American Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota Scholarship: Seniors who are sons, daughters, grandsons, or granddaughters of a veteran. Deadline is March 15.

American Legion Auxiliary Past Presidents Health Care Scholarship: Seniors going into any health care field. Deadline is March 15.

American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students: Non-traditional students who are a member of The American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion. Deadline is March 1.

American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National President Scholarship: Seniors who are daughters, stepdaughters, sons, stepsons, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during eligible dates.

American Legion Auxiliary spirit of Youth Scholarship -- for Junior Members: Seniors and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Deadline is March 1.

Farm Credit Service Scholarship: Seniors who are from an actively farming or ranching family OR planning to pursue an agricultural. Deadline is March 1.

Heart Research Scholarship: Minnesota seniors, college freshman, sophomores, or juniors with an interest in the health science area.

St. Thomas Science, Mathematics and Engineering Scholarships: Seniors applying to St. Thomas. Deadline is Dec. 1.

AXA Achievement Scholarship: Seniors who are active in their community, have led a project that benefits others and overcome personal challenges. Apply online Deadline is Dec. 15.

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship: Seniors who show ambition and drive, respect for self, family and community and ability to succeed in college. Download an application at Deadline is Feb. 1.

Community Ed

Children's Health and Wellness will be held Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library. The fee is $5.

SMART Board Demonstration will be held Nov. 15 at 6:30 pm. in high school room 253.

30-Hour Classroom Driving Instruction begins Nov. 28. This is for anyone age 14 and up and the fee is $120.

Wednesday Night Volleyball will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the high school gym. This is for anyone age 16 and up and the fee is $3 per night.

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 16 - Nachos with cheesy meat sauce, green beans, fruit salad, milk.

THURSDAY, Nov. 17 - Turkey gravy over mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, corn, cranberries, pumpkin bar, milk.

Community Ed

Corncupcopia for Thanksgiving will be held Nov. 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the FACS room. The fee is $22 and includes materials.

Santa's Helpers Vendor Fair will be Nov. 17 and 20 from 4-7 p.m. in the media center. Vendors include Creative Memories, Avon, Blessings Unlimited, HeimMade, homemade jewelry, chainsaw carvings and much more! Deer Camp, The Musical! will be held Jan. 5 from 4:30-11:00 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Miles Reif Center. Dinner will be at the Forest Lake Restaurant at your own expense. The bus leaves Kelliher at 4:30 p.m. returning at approximately 11 p.m. The fee is $34 (includes ticket and transportation. 20 people are needed for this event and registrations must be in by Nov. 21. There are no refunds for this trip unless someone else takes your place.

Zumba will be held every Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the little gym. This class is free of charge.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About iPads and Kindles will be held Nov. 29 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the media center. The fee is $5.

About Students

Chris Cronemiller of Blackduck, was awarded the Derby Scholarship at Oak Hills Christian College, Bemidji. He is a junior at OHCC majoring in Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry.
