BHS says Buenos Dias Senora Sullivan
She's no stranger to the halls of Blackduck High School. Our new Spanish teacher has worked in Blackduck in the past as a long-term sub and is already a "fan favorite" with the BHS students!
Catherine Sullivan joins the staff as the lone member of the Spanish department and one of two foreign language teachers. She and her husband, Dan, live in Bemidji where Mrs. Sullivan has also worked in the past as a substitute. She has subbed in the Cass Lake-Bena and Laporte Schools as well and in addition to subbing in Spanish, she has worked as a nurse at the Cass Lake-Bena Schools, Cass Lake Indian Health Services, Waterwheel Gardens near Boise, ID and as a camp nurse at the Concordia Language Villages.
Catherine is excited to return to Blackduck because she loved her time working as a long-term substitute for Senora Elias last year. She says she love the students, staff and administration and that is a real pleasure to be back in the Blackduck school and community. Her favorite Blackduck School memory was playing the guitar and singing in Spanish for the seventh grade class while subbing last year because it was so much fun to see their reactions. Perhaps she can be persuaded to perform for her students again!
In her spare time, Mrs. Sullivan enjoys many outdoor activities, like running, biking, rollerblading, canoeing and camping. She also enjoys music: singing and playing both the guitar and piano. Of course, she enjoys traveling as well naturally her favorite destinations are Spanish speaking countries
She's looking forward to growing in the teaching profession and Spanish language skills and is also hoping to raise a family in the future.
