Beltrami County Court Report for February 6

In Beltrami County District Court before Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Edward Allen Davis, 51, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty Jan. 26 to felony ineligible person in possession of a pistol. His next court date is Feb. 28.

At 5 p.m. June 30, Davis, then an employee of the Bemidji Jaycees Water Carnival, threatened a woman telling her to "watch her back." The woman reported the incident to the Citizen Patrol, which reported it to the Bemidji Police Department. Police officers later found Davis carried a model 10.38 Smith and Wesson revolver handgun.

Jared Dale Boye, 24, of Bemidji, pleaded innocent to felony third-degree burglary Jan. 25. His next court date is April 5.

According to the criminal complaint, at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 1, 2010, Boye was caught stealing a chainsaw from a garage and claimed he thought the garage was owned by his cousin.

Cisco Rolando Johnson, 23, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty on Jan. 24 to two gross misdemeanor charges: domestic abuse by violating a no contact order and also domestic assault - subsequent violation.

His next court date is Feb. 28.

In the first case, at 5 a.m. Dec. 4, Beltrami County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Roosevelt Road Southeast to investigate an order for protection and conditional release violation. A woman reported that Johnson had entered her home earlier that morning in an intoxicated state. Officials found Johnson sleeping at the residence. Johnson was not supposed to have contact with the woman.

In the second case, at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6, Beltrami County Sheriff's Department deputies made contact with a woman who reported Johnson threatened her over the phone, stating he was going to purchase a gun and shoot her. Johnson was not supposed to have contact with the woman. Deputies arrested Johnson and transported him to Beltrami County Jail.

Terry Lee Hower, 57, of Blackduck, pleaded guilty to felony first-degree driving while impaired. His next court date is Feb. 14.

At 5:14 p.m. Nov. 1, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to a request to remove Hower from a residence on the 26600 block of Maesse School Road in Blackduck. Deputies found Hower's vehicle parked outside a residence located on the 21700 block of Maesse School Road. Deputies found Hower inside and observed him to be highly intoxicated and smelling strongly of alcohol. Hower was unable to complete a field sobriety test and refused a preliminary breath test. Hower was placed under arrest and transported to Beltrami County Jail.

Hower has 12 prior offenses from 1973 to 2002. He was sent to prison in 2007 for 60 months for first-degree driving while impaired.

Eugene Tyler Stangel, 22, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty Jan. 24 to gross misdemeanor domestic abuse for violating a no-contact order. His next court appearance is Feb. 14.

On Jan. 12, the Bemidji Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Birchmont Drive Northeast for a domestic altercation. Stengel was discovered hiding from law enforcement in the attic of the residence. He was arrested for violating a domestic abuse and no contact order.

Justin Wayne French, 31, of Blackduck, pleaded guilty Jan. 24 to felony third-degree burglary. His next court date is March 7.

On Sept. 19, a surveillance camera recorded French breaking into the Juelson Body Shop in Blackduck, where he stole four tire rims. French admitted stealing the rims and selling them for $40.

Dakota Shane Alman, 19, of Wilton, pleaded guilty Jan. 24 to felony third-degree burglary. His next court date is Feb. 22.

At 11 a.m. Jan. 19, a Bemidji Police officer saw a male running up a snow bank at the edge of a convenience store parking lot. The officer saw the glass door of the store was smashed and heard the burglary alarm sounding. The officer discovered the man, later identified as Alman, walking with another man on Fourth Street Southeast. One of the men revealed to the officer that he had stolen cartons of cigarettes and carried burglary tools. Both he and Alman were arrested.
