U.S. Marshals arrest cousins wanted for Ohio murder in Brooklyn Park

Brooklyn Park, Minn., - Deputies from the U.S. Marshals Service Northstar Fugitive Task Force arrested Scottie Gilbreath, 23, and his cousin Alandre Gilbreath, 26, in Brooklyn Park today. Both individuals were wanted by the Springfield, Ohio, Police Department on warrants for Homicide and Felonious Assault with a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Tampering with Evidence, related to an incident that took place in Springfield, Ohio, on December 5th, 2010. Information was obtained that the cousins were possibly staying with relatives in the Brooklyn Park area. Deputies were able to track Scottie and Alandre Gilbreath to an apartment complex in Brooklyn Center where they were located and arrested without incident.

It is alleged in that in the early morning hours of December 5th, 2010, Scottie Gilbreath and Alandre Gilbreath went to a residence in Springfield, Ohio, to meet with some friends. An argument ensued and both Scottie and Alandre Gilbreath produced guns and began shooting. As a result, one victim was killed and another victim was shot but later recovered. After being named suspects in the homicide and assault, the U.S. Marshals Service SO-FAST (Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team) saturated the area looking for both Gilbreaths. They remained at large until information was developed that placed them in Minnesota.

After their arrest, both Scottie and Alandre Gilbreath were transported to the Hennepin County Jail where he is being detained pending extradition to Ohio.
