Blackduck High's student council will be hosting the annual Halloween Carnival Oct. 31 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the school multi-purpose room. All children are invited to attend. There will be lots of games and prizes and a costume contest. Tickets to play the games are 25¢ each and it costs one ticket to play a game.

The Drake Times

Well it's been another busy month here at Blackduck School.

Homecoming was awesome had some great participants. We had Harry Potter visit the school on character day. On mismatch day, we had some wacky outfits, and on career day we had a stay at home dad. Of course had lots of maroon and gold on spirit day, especially from the Quack Pack. Your homecoming royalty this year is King Zeke Burtard and Queen Shannon Budde. For your Prince and Princess we had Justin Chase and Kylie Bamberger.

We had the last football game on Oct. 15, unfortunately we lost but the boys played a good game. Parent and Senior Appreciation was also that day for the football players and cheerleaders. We're going to miss you seniors! We love you!

The Tracy cake after the football game was amazing as always. The Dig Pink Breast awareness volleyball game unfortunately went to Pine River. Many people supported Breast Cancer awareness and wore pink to the game and to school that day.

The play rehearsals are going wonderfully. The play is Nov. 5-7. And for all you hunters out there, yes that is the same weekend as opener for deer season. So hunt in the morning and enjoy live theater put on by The Blackduck High School Theater in the evening. Remember Friday night of the play and Friday night only is a dinner theater which requires a reservation, so get your seats soon.

Since it is October, who would we be, not to talk about a good scare on Halloween? That's right, the haunted halls are back again this year!

This year the haunted halls will be Oct. 30-31 so come help support the drama club! The Halloween carnival is set for Oct. 31 at 6:30. It's fun for all ages and nobody is too old to trick or treat! It only comes once a year where you get free candy.

Well that's all folks -- talk to you next month. This has been The Drakes Times signing off. Yours truly, Kristie and Jenna.

Have a Happy Halloween! Dress up and don't forget to go trick or treating!
