Fire reported at mobile home early Monday morning

A fire caused about $4,000 worth of damage to a mobile home in Hillcrest Manor Monday morning.

According to a press release from Bemidji Fire Chief Dave Hoefer:

The fire was reported at 5:43 a.m. on the 3900 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest by occupants of the residence, who were alerted to fire by smoke detectors in the home.

The fire was confined to the underside of the mobile home.

Seventeen firefighters responded to the scene with four trucks. Four firefighters remained at standby at the Fire Hall.

The Fire Department was on scene for approximately 1.5 hours. The underside of the mobile home suffered minor fire damage and light smoke damage.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental in nature.

Assisting at the scene were the Bemidji Ambulance Service and Bemidji Police Department.
