Walker receives $250,000 grant
The city of Walker received approval June 3 for its application of a Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Program grant from the Department of Employment and Economic Development.
The $250,000 grant will provide financial assistance for the city to help correct infrastructure difficulties in Walker's Industrial Park. The funds will help provide resources necessary for continued economic growth and encourage employment in the Walker community and nearby areas.
The city of Walker sought specialized assistance from the Cass County Economic Development Corporation for the preparation of the grant application.
The mission of the EDC is "to improve the business environment in Cass County by encouraging a strong, diverse, and sustainable economy and to build better relationships between business, government agencies and communities."
