Beltrami County deputy suffers smoke inhalation while fighting fire
A Beltrami County deputy was treated and released for smoke inhalation following a Sunday fire in Blackduck.
According to a press release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office:
The deputy, who was not identified, responded to the fire at 5:10 p.m. along with a Blackduck police officer. They entered the house to ensure all occupants were outside.
The deputy began to fight the fire with a fire extinguisher and was overcome by smoke inhalation. He was transported by Blackduck Ambulance to North Country Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The Blackduck Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames from the fire.
