Pet proposal gets second hearing

The Bemidji City Council Monday night held the continued second reading and public hearing on a proposed ordinance that would limit the number of dogs and cats residents may own. It also would prohibit the running of at-large dogs and cats in the city limits.

New language was adopted and the second reading was held. The final reading of the ordinance is scheduled for May 17, at which time the council will consider adoption.
