Week of March 23-26

TUESDAY, March 23 - Chicken wraps with lettuce and cheese, Randh dressing, corn, mandarin oranges, bread slice, milk variety.

WEDNESDAY, March 24 - Hotdog, baked beans, oven fries with ketchup and mustard, baked apples, bread slice, milk variety.

THURSDAY, March 25 - Taco in a bag with beef and Doritos, lettuce, cheese, salsa and sour cream, corn, mixed fruit, bread slice, milk variety.

FRIDAY, March 26 - Shrimp with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, mashed potatoes with butter, green beans, rosy applesauce, blueberry muffin, milk variety.

Scholarship info

The following scholarship information is available in the high school office:

• Blandin Foundation Education Awards: Anyone under the age of 25 as of Sept. 1 and plan on attending, any accredited educational institution in the United States. Deadline is May 1.

• Vernon J. Pick Foundation Scholarships: Seniors planning full-time college study in one of the general areas of sciences, mathematics, or engineering. Applicants have a GPA of at least 3.25 and a ACT score of 27 or higher. Deadline is March 30.

• Knights of Columbus: Senior Catholic Students. Deadline is April 1.

• Mike Staples Memorial Scholarship: Seniors pursuing post-secondary education in natural resource areas or criminal justice area or other related careers. Deadline is April 15.

• Blackduck Community Fund Scholarship: Seniors from Blackduck High School attending a four-year college or university and demonstrating high academic achievement and involvement and positive leadership qualities. Deadline is April 15.

• P.E.O. STAR Scholarship: Seniors and junior women who exhibit excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. Also, must have a GPA of 3.0 to 4.0. Deadline is Oct. 1.

Community Ed

Small Willow Basket Making will be held March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons. The fee is $20.

Adult Basic Education is held Wednesdays at 4:45 p.m. at the Blackduck Resource Center.

Wednesday Night Volleyball is held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The fee is $3 per night.

THURSDAY, March 25 - Chicken enchiladas, Mexican corn, yogurt, milk.

FRIDAY, March 26 - Cheese pizza, green beans, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, pudding, sugar cookie, milk.

Community Ed

Aerobics will be held Monday-Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Bring a towel.

Open gym is Sundays from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $1 per person or $5 per family.

About Students

Two Kelliher students passed MCAS Word 2007 Certification Exams March 4-5.

Danielle Poxleitner and Mickey Nelson passed the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Word 2007 computer certification exam. They are now certified in word processing for Microsoft Word 2007.

Poxleitner is a senior and is the daughter of Dennis and Nancy Poxleitner of Kelliher.

Nelson is a junior and is the son of Michael and Zorana Nelson of Ponemah.
