MOORHEAD, Minn. - Two people are dead after an early morning house fire here.

Moorhead firefighters were called to a four-plex near the Concordia College campus about 7 a.m.

On the scene, firefighters had difficulty opening a fire hydrant to help battle the blaze, according to Moorhead Fire Chief Joel Hewitt.

Fargo and Dilworth firefighters helped knock down the fire and the Minnesota state fire marshal has been called to the scene to investigate.
