Week of Feb. 16-29

TUESDAY, Feb. 16 - Chicken patty on a bun, baked beans, oven fries, peaches, fruit snacks, milk variety.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 17 - Shrimp, mashed potatoes with butter, green beans, baked apples, Scooby Doo grahams, bread slice, milk variety.

THURSDAY, Feb. 18 - Beef taco meat with a soft shell tortilla, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and salsa, corn, pears, bread slice, milk variety.

FRIDAY, Feb. 19 - Tomato soup, cheese sticks, saltines, lettuce salad with cheese and croutons, mixed fruit, Rice Krispie treat, milk variety.

Book Fair set

The Blackduck Elementary Library will be cooking up reading fun at the Book Fair Diner, Feb. 16-19.

They will be serving up a wide ranging variety of great books to boost the young reader's appetite for reading.

The book fair is an "all-you-can-eat" diner with everyone encouraged to look at all the books that will be on the buffet.

The fair will also be held during parent-teacher conferences Feb. 22 from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Scholarship info

The following scholarship information is available in the high school office:

• Blandin Foundation Education Awards: Anyone under the age of 25 as of Sept. 1 and plan on attending, any accredited educational institution in the United States. Deadline is May 1.

• Vernon J. Pick Foundation Scholarships: Seniors planning full-time college study in one of the general areas of sciences, mathematics, or engineering. Applicants have a GPA of at least 3.25 and a ACT score of 27 or higher. Deadline is March 30.

• Knights of Columbus: Senior Catholic Students. Deadline is April 1.

SisterSong: A Celebration of Women and Their Music Scholarship: Girls 12 -18 years of age, who have a passion for music, and who will be encouraged to perform at a future concert. Deadline is Feb. 22.

•Best Buy: Seniors with involved and community service or work experience who plan on attending a college or university. Apply on-line at Deadline is Feb. 15.

Community Ed

Swing Dance Sampler will be held Feb. 19 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and the cost is $15. per person.

Turkey Hunting Clinic will be held Feb. 23 from 7-9 p.m. The fee is $5.

Ceramic Baskets will be held March 15 and 22 from 6:30 p.m. The fee is $15 payable to Community Ed and $15 payable to the instructor.

Adult Basic Education is held Wednesdays at 4:45 p.m. at the Blackduck Resource Center.

Wednesday Night Volleyball is held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The fee is $3 per night.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 17 - Fish patty on a bun, potato wedges, California blend vegetables, yogurt, milk.

THURSDAY, Feb. 18 - Roast pork gravy over mashed potatoes, corn, dinner roll, pears, milk.

FRIDAY, Feb. 19 - Cheese pizza, green beans, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit gushers, milk.

Community Ed

Aerobics will be held Monday-Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Bring a towel.

Open gym is Sundays from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $1 per person or $5 per family.
