Week of Feb. 2-5

TUESDAY, Feb. 2 - Hamburger, dill pickles, baked beans, oven fries, ketchup and mustard, peaches, milk variety.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 3 - Pepperoni pizza, garden salad, ham, cheese, croutons, Ranch and French dressing, baked apples, fruit snacks, bread slice, milk variety.

THURSDAY, Feb. 4 - Chicken strips, mashed potatoes with gravy, Ranch and BBQ sauce, carrots, mixed fruit, bread slice, milk variety.

FRIDAY, Feb. 5 - Italian dunkers, cheesy bread, meat spaghetti sauce, green beans, pineapple, frozen juice bar, bread slice, milk variety.

Scholarships available

Farm Credit Service Scholarship: Seniors who are from an actively farming or ranching family OR are planning to pursue an agricultural degree. Deadline is March 1.

KFC Colonel's Scholarship: Seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher and are pursuing a bachelors degree. Apply online at Deadline is Feb. 10.

US Bank Internet Scholarship: Seniors attending an accredited two or four-year college next fall. Apply online at Deadline is Feb. 28.

America Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota Scholarship: Seniors who are sons, daughters, grandsons, or granddaughters of a veteran. Deadline is March 15.

National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association: Seniors who have a minimum GPA of B+ average, participated in two sports for at least two years in each, and one varsity letter in each of two sports. Deadline is Feb. 28.

North Country Health Services Auxiliary Scholarship: Seniors pursuing a career in a health related field, and not have been a previous recipient. Deadline is March 15.

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship: Seniors who show ambition and drive, respect for self, family and community, and ability to succeed in college. Download an application at Deadline is Feb. 15.

Foundation of Rural Service: Seniors with at least a C grade point average, receive telecommunications service from Paul Bunyan Telephone and plan on returning to work in a rural area after graduation. Deadline is March 1.

Body by Milk: Seniors at the top of their game when it comes to academics, sports and community service. Apply online at: Deadline is March 5.

Minnesota Association of Townships: Juniors who plan to further their education at a college, university, or vocational school. Deadline is May 1.

Community Ed

Minnesota Youth Trapping License Class starts Feb. 3 at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds. Call 835-5241 for all the details.

Judo starts Feb. 3 and will be held Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per individual or $45 per family.

Karate begins Feb. 9 and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. The fee is $65.

Swing Dance Sampler will be held Feb. 19 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and the cost is $15. per person.

Turkey Hunting Clinic will be held Feb. 23 from 7-9 p.m. The fee is $5.

Adult Basic Education is held Wednesdays at 4:45 p.m. at the Blackduck Resource Center.

Wednesday Night Volleyball is held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The fee is $3 per night.

Aerobics will be held Monday-Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Bring a towel.

Open gym is Sundays from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $1 per person or $5 per family.

About Students

Melanie Peasley, daughter of Dale and Janette Peasley of Blackduck, was named to the fall dean's list at Northwestern College in St. Paul.

Peasley is pursuing a degree in Biology.


Tyler Stomberg of Blackduck, has been named to the dean's list at Alexandria Technical College.

He is currently working towards a Machine Tool Technology degree.
