"It was a great success! We had 21 people show up, so I was pretty excited," said Blackduck Community Librarian Nance Kunkel of those who came into the library for the Minnesota Crime Wave program and book signing Nov. 7.

"I think to get that many people on the opening of deer season was pretty remarkable," she said. Kunkel said that she thought people seemed to really enjoy the conversation-type program.

All three authors, Wm Kent Kruger, Carl Brookins and Ellen Hart encouraged people to ask questions whenever they wanted and the conversation just went from there and Kunkel noted that it seemed everyone who was on hand as well as the authors enjoyed the day.

There will be a Laura Ingalls Wilder program Nov. 14 and then Lorna Landvik program Dec 3. Everyone is welcome to attend.

This program was part of the Kitchigami Reads/Kitchigami Writes Project and was made possible with funding from the Minnesota Legacy Arts fund.
