Sheriff's report

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:

Personal injury accident

2:54 a.m. Friday, Beltrami County Road 9 ¼ mile north of U.S. Highway 2. Wayne Kumrey, 53, of Bemidji, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup south on County Road 9 when he lost control and went into the ditch and struck an embankment. He managed to drive out of the ditch, make a U-turn and park on the northbound shoulder of the road. He was taken to North County Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.


6:25 p.m. Friday, 2300 block of Roosevelt Road Southwest. A resident reported that sometime between Thursday and the time of the call someone had stolen a tackle box and fishing tackle valued at $1,000 from a boat parked in the garage.

4:33 p.m. Friday, 1200 block of Birchmont Beach Road Northeast.

7 p.m. Friday, 900 block of 21st Street Northwest. Medical call.

10:40 p.m. Friday, 1600 block of Bemidji Avenue. Medical call.

11:21 a.m. Saturday, U.S. Highway 2 West, 15400 block of Caribou Footed Drive Northwest, Solway. Personal injury accident.

11:34 a.m. Saturday, 2400 block of Middle School Drive. Medical call.

State Patrol report

The Minnesota State Patrol based in Thief River Falls responded to the following call:

Personal injury accident

11:20 a.m. Saturday,15400 block of Caribou Footed Drive Northwest, Solway. Jacqueline A. Phelps, 15, of Willmar, Minn., was driving a 1991 Acura Coupe west on U.S. Highway 2 when the vehicle went off the roads. The driver overcorrected to the right, and then overcorrected to the left. The vehicle ran onto the median and rolled onto the roof. Phelps and her passenger, Jay D. Johns, 18, of Clearbrook, Minn., were taken by Bemidji Ambulance to North Country Regional Hospital where Johns was treated and released. Phelps was transferred to a Fargo hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was totaled.
