Richard Delmar Kingbird, 62
Richard "Bibsy" Delmar Kingbird, 62, of Walker and formerly of Cass Lake, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Walker.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake. Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the Cass Lake Facility Center and beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Building. Visitation will continue there until time of the service. Burial will be in the Morgan Family Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 30, 1946, to John and Agnes (Morgan) Kingbird in Cass Lake. He grew up and attended school in Cass Lake. In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart for his service. Following his time in the service he attended Bemidji Vo-Tech in the auto mechanic program. In July 1972, he married Bonnie Brun. He worked for Leech Lake Solid Waste for several years, and then as a custodian for the Indian Health Service until he retired in 1998. He enjoyed watching sports, going to powwows, listening to music and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Brandon (Lynn) Morgan; sisters, Nancy Kingbird and Faith (Lenny) Abram; brothers, Joe (Bonnie) Kingbird, Darwin (Janice) Kingbird, Stewart Kingbird and Bob (Brenda) Morgan; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and brother, Darryl Kingbird, Sr.
