BHS girls tennis sweeps for two wins

The Bemidji High tennis team ran its dual match record to 7-0 Tuesday, blanking Detroit Lakes and Crookst0n 7-0 at the high school courts.

They close the week tomorrow at home against Thief River Falls.

Crookston beat DL 6-1 in the third match.

Coach Scott Engelstad used two different lineups but had the same results.

Against the winless Lakers, Brittany Thompson, Cortne Solberg, Kenzie Kane and Jenna Nei won in singles.

The doubles teams were Suzann Nordquist with Jamie Hoffman, Alissa Johnson with Megan Huseby and Jessica Solberg with Haley Pollock.

Against Crookston, Hoffman, Brittany Thompson, Kane and Maria Thompson played singles with Cortne Solberg and Nordquist at No. 1 doubles, Johnson and Huseby at No. 2 and Jessica Solberg with Pollock at No. 3.

Bemidji was missing Kelsey Bretschneider for the day. Kane will be gone tomorrow against the Prowlers.

The JV beat Crookston 11-2 in its only match of the day.
