Redby man sentenced to seven years in prison in 2013 assault case
REDBY -- A Redby man was sentenced to seven years in prison Wednesday in federal court in Duluth.
Dale Clinton White Jr., 20, was convicted of one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury to another man on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in March of last year. White pleaded guilty to the charge in July.
Chief Judge Michael J. Davis gave the 90 month sentence as an upward departure from Federal Sentencing Guidelines because of “extreme and inhumane treatment of the victim.”
The case was a result of an investigation by the Red Lake Tribal Police Department and the FBI, officials said in a press release.
