Students hope to continue work in Bemidji
The Bemidji State University students who traveled on the Pay It Forward Tour now hope to make a difference for others locally.
The BSU chapter of Students Today Leaders Forever is seeking opportunities to serve others in the Bemidji area.
Senior Cody Nelson of the BSU chapter of STLF said the Pay It Forward Tour gets students out of their comfort zones and brings them to new places where they do service projects. The idea is for students to realize their own communities' needs and take action to serve their communities after they return.
Freshman Natalie Hursey, who participated on the tour, said sometimes people have to visit other communities to see the issues and problems they are dealing with to realize that their own communities have the same problems.
"So there is work to do here," she said.
