Edna Fay Hovde, 66, of Bemidji, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with Rev. Bill Goodman officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Trinity Free Lutheran Cemetery in Pony Lake, Minn. in the spring.

Pallbearers will be Donald Hovde, Josh Hovde, Jason Hovde, Brian Smith, Leroy Binkley and Allan Pence. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica McDonald, Paul McDonald, Brandon Benson, Nicole Benson, Haley McDonald, Dylan McDonald and nieces and nephews.

She was born July 18, 1941, to Harvey and Agnes (Cross) Smith in Bemidji. She attended Austin School and Bemidji High School. On March 12, 1960, she married Art Hovde. She spent her adult life making a home for her family. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and camping. She especially treasured the time she shared with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of Bemidji; daughters, Becky (Bruce) McDonald and Brenda (Mike) Benson both of Bemidji; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Gaarsland of Bemidji, and brother, Vernon (Barbara) Smith of Bemidji.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Smith and Kenny Smith, and sisters, Evelyn Binkley and Ellen Braman.
