Driver in rollover crash identified
The driver of the vehicle that rolled Wednesday on U.S. Highway 2 has been identified.
Anton Tibbets, 24, of Bemidji was driving the 1991 Dodge Dakota, which rolled while the vehicle was heading west on an icy Highway 2. He lost control of the vehicle and rolled into the median, according to the State Patrol out of Thief River Falls.
Monika Tibbets, 63, of Bemidji, a passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured in the crash, according to the State Patrol. She became trapped following the accident and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.
Monika Tibbets, who was wearing her seat belt, was taken to North Country Regional Hospital, where she is in serious condition.
Anton Tibbets also was taken to North Country Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The Dodge Dakota was totaled, according to the State Patrol.
