Reward offered in weekend stabbing case

BEMIDJI — A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone who has information that could lead to apprehending a suspect in a stabbing Sunday east of Bemidji.

Beltrami County Deputies responded to a call of a stabbing at 12:46 a.m. Sunday. The incident occurred at a property owned by the Theta Tau Epsilon Fraternity Alumni on Hensel Drive Northeast about five miles east of Bemidji. During the investigation, deputies discovered Jace Jeffrey Ugrich, 18, of Bovey, had been stabbed in the back while breaking up a fight between two other males, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials are requesting assistance from the public to identify the suspect. Specifically, they would like to interview two persons of interest: a white male about 6-feet tall with a skinny build who was wearing a dark sweatshirt and a black baseball cap on backward that had the word “Dope” in a light color on the front; and a white male about 6-feet tall with light colored hair who was wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt.
