BEMIDJI — A 67-year-old man was cited for DWI following a three-car accident that sent his vehicle onto its side Monday afternoon.

Frank Austin Martin was arrested after the accident, according to police. He was travelling west across the intersection of Bemidji Avenue North and First Street when his truck was struck on its passenger side by a sport utility vehicle driven by Anita Hanson.

Hanson and Leigh Collyer were traveling in separate vehicles south on Bemidji Avenue North just before 5 p.m. Monday when the accident occurred.

Martin was aided by Bemidji firefighters in climbing out of his vehicle, which was rocked onto its driver's side as a result of the collision, snarling traffic for about 30 minutes.

Hanson and Collyer were unharmed in the crash.
