Blood drive was a success
Bemidji has once again sponsored a very successful blood drive.
Bemidji had an outstanding turnout. Out of 73 people who volunteered to donate, 68 were able to give. Ten people gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine, which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 78 products were collected.
From beginning to end, the drive was very well organized. Mike Stavig and JoAnne Carlblom coordinated the drive. Others who assisted with the drive were Elaine Bohanon, Elaine Miller, Bonnie Bredenberg, Helene Lind, Anna Johansen, Jody Benshoof, Avis Eickhoff, Wanda Weberg, Kathy Kosobud, Carol Laitala, Floyd and Dorothy Jorgensen, Meredith Brown, Jean Olson, Miriam Miller, Dottie Liapis, Dorothy Boe, Alice Lapp, Barb Treat, Randy Triepke, Sharon Bergom and Shannon Tangen.
Donations will help meet the blood needs of many patients in 71 area hospitals served by United Blood Services.
Blood is for sharing; you have truly given the "Gift of Life."
