The Headwaters School of Music and the Arts will be 21 years old in June 2014. The mission of our school is to "Seek Music, Engage the Arts, Build Community." Please continue to help this tradition by making a monetary donation that will be used by students for private lesson scholarships and to underwrite the First City Singers music program and the Youth Orchestra program.

The Church Basement Ladies • May 14, 2014 • 3pm and 7pm  The Sanford Center 

The fourth installment of the Church Basement ladies series of Musical Comedies, A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR BASEMENT, will be presented on May 14th at the Sanford Center. Audiences from coast to coast have fallen in love with these residents of the church basement, and all agree that each new installment gets better and better.

Thursday Evenings from 6:00 - 8:00pm

Cost is $10 per month to participate.

Come to hear and be part of the beautiful music this group practices.

You are not required to be able to read music.

The group is welcoming and fun loving so don't miss out on this great opportunity.


Rehearsals every Monday from 1:00 - 2:00pm

Cost is $5 per month to participate. 

All senior citizens are welcome to join!

This is a non-auditioned chorus program for "seniors" who love to sing and perform in our community.

The group performs on the following monthly schedule

  •   3rd Monday - Havenwood Care Center
  •   3rd Wednesday - Gold Pine Homes
  •   3rd Friday - Baker Park
  •   Last Monday - Wind Song or Tamarack Assisted Living
  •   Last Tuesday - Neilson Place



The Youth Wind Ensembles program is open to all students who are currently in grades 4 to 11 and who are in private study or in a school band setting. Additionally, private lessons are available on Mondays and Thursdays for all band instruments. Students wishing private instruction or to play in the Youth Wine Ensemble should call us at 218-444-5606.
