Snow is falling in the Bemidji area today, but it's nothing like what parts of the region are suffering through. The National Weather Service says some areas of southeast North Dakota and west-central Minnesota south of Interstate 94 will get up to eight inches of new snow today.

It's 23 degrees below zero in Bemidji this morning, but the cold snap is expected to be short-lived, according to the National Weather Service. Today's high will be 5 above, the Tuesday's high will be in the teens above zero.
