Peterson support lies with big agribusinesses PressPass

Minnesota District 7 Rep. Collin Peterson will be voted out of office. He has taken a stand against health care reform because it would add to the federal budget deficit and not be “sustainable.” Rep. Peterson ignores the fact that health care costs for his 7th District voters and people are not “sustainable.” It is clear that the corporate interests have bought him out.

Holiday Spinach Salad showcases colors of the season

Holiday Spinach Salad showcases colors of the season Every year at this time, I would sit with my dad at the kitchen table. He’d pull out his pocket knife and score the thick ruby skin of the fruit. Then he’d use his fingers to pull the pomegranate apart, red juice squirting everywhere.

Mac and cheese: An old favorite gets a new twist

Mac and cheese: An old favorite gets a new twist Every year at this time, I get such a craving for homemade macaroni and cheese. Logging in county parks disturbs park enthusiasts PressPass

I‘ve had several calls about the recent timber cutting in the Movil Maze and was glad to see Ms. Kisler’s letter to the editor concerning this cut. We have experienced the same cutting in the west end of Three Island County Park and I doubt very much if anyone other than the immediate neighbors are aware of what was cut there. Similar cutting is planned for the east end of the park where the ski and snowmobile trails will allow many more people to see how the cutting is handled.
