Remember Peanuts on Parade, when Charlie Brown, Snoopy and friends populated St. Paul? From 2000-2004, dozens of sculptures were decorated by artists and displayed throughout the capital city.

Patt Rall Arts Column for Jan 21: Faculty recital to take stage Saturday at BSU
Faculty Chamber Recital will be performed at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in Thompson Recital Hall of the Bangsberg Fine and Performing Arts Complex on the campus of Bemidji State University, 14th Street and Birchmont Drive Northeast. Players are Susan Nelson on flute, Erika Svanoe on clarinet, Sarah Carlson on organ and soprano Jennifer Swanson. This event is free and open to the public.

Troubadour Series to feature Parker Quartet
The Parker Quartet, in its second season as Quartet in Residence with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, is currently on tour for the Troubadour Series at Minnesota Public Radio with a stop in Bemidji that includes master classes for young musicians, a chamber concert and a post-concert discussion with the audience.

R2AC to offer Arts and Cultural grants
The Region 2 Arts Council (R2AC) will offer several new grant opportunities to artists, arts organizations, non-profits, schools and local governments. These grants are a result of the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage funds as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008. The passage of the Clean Water, Lands and Legacy Amendment will greatly enhance arts funding for the next 25 years in the State of Minnesota.
