Golden Valley man sentenced for sex crime 
Nigel Raymond Brown, 29, of Golden Valley, pleaded guilty Aug. 24 and was sentenced Oct. 29 in Beltrami County District Court for serious felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim between the ages of 13-15.

Lyons pleads guilty to amended charge
Merlin Franklin Lyons, 57, of Cass Lake, pleaded guilty Oct. 20, before Judge John Melbye in Beltrami County District Court to an amended charge of gross misdemeanor lewd conduct. The original charge was serious felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with victim younger than 13 years old. His next court date will be Nov. 23.

Wisconsin man sentenced for sex crime
Gabriel Vitali Matthias, 27, of Madison, Wis., pleaded guilty June 15 in Beltrami County District Court and was sentenced Monday, Aug. 10, for felony soliciting a child to engage in a sexual act and felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim 12-15 years of age. The charges were amended from felony soliciting a child to engage in sexual contact.

Bryan sentenced for sex crimes
Sylvester Leonard Bryan, 61, of Bemidji pleaded guilty May 5 and was sentenced Monday, Aug. 10, in Beltrami County District Court for two counts of serious felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct and third-degree criminal sexual conduct with force or coercion.
