St. Philip’s School students complete service project PressPass

St. Philip’s School students complete service project From left, St. Philip’s School seventh-graders Megan Serratore, Teather Krueth and Taylor Kane, along with their classmates from teacher Jean Lindow’s class, had a special assignment on Oct. 23. For their service project, they bud-capped pine trees they planted last spring for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The capped trees are located at St. Philip’s school forest, which is a portion of the Mississippi Headwaters State Forest located south of Bemidji. Last spring, the students planted more than 2,000 white pine and Norway spruce seedlings. Children between ages 3 and 4 are mandated by the state to have a screening to identify possible learning or health concerns so children who need help can get it before they start school.
