Man sentenced for scalding assault 
A 42-year-old Red Lake man was sentenced Thursday in federal court for assaulting someone by pouring scalding water and food on them.

Golden Valley man sentenced for sex crime 
Nigel Raymond Brown, 29, of Golden Valley, pleaded guilty Aug. 24 and was sentenced Oct. 29 in Beltrami County District Court for serious felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim between the ages of 13-15.
