Golden Valley man sentenced for sex crime
Nigel Raymond Brown, 29, of Golden Valley, pleaded guilty Aug. 24 and was sentenced Oct. 29 in Beltrami County District Court for serious felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim between the ages of 13-15.October 30, 2009
Lyons pleads guilty to amended charge
Merlin Franklin Lyons, 57, of Cass Lake, pleaded guilty Oct. 20, before Judge John Melbye in Beltrami County District Court to an amended charge of gross misdemeanor lewd conduct. The original charge was serious felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with victim younger than 13 years old. His next court date will be Nov. 23.October 30, 2009

Matthew Thomas Huffman, 24, of Bemidji, has been sentenced for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim aged 13 to 15, which is a serious felony.

Donald William Laquire-Jackson, 21, of Duluth, Minn., was sentenced in Beltrami County District Court Sept. 14 on conviction for felony second-assault with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm.
