Issue is bigger than one parking space
I just had to respond as a resident in the city of Bemidji to the recent letters to the editor (March 25 and April 4). For many years, I have always wished on a chilly winter day to drive and park around the Third Street downtown area to have lunch or shop during my lunch time. For over 15 years – never have I been able to get a parking space.

Blane Klemek column: Beautiful bluebird a favorite of wildlife watchers
I saw my first eastern bluebird, a singing male, the second week of March — a little earlier than usual. The beautiful bird flew from one backyard perch to another, softly singing its sweet warbled song as he flew. Indeed, there’s something very special about seeing a bluebird.

The weather has a big impact on how fast the spawn for the various species of fish progresses in the spring. Now that the temperatures have begun to warm, walleyes, northern pike and perch have started to spawn in most of the lakes in the Bemidji area.
