Funeral services were March 5 at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji with the Rev. Beth Bachman Caulfield officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetary in Bemidji under the direction of Cease Funeral Home of Bemidji.
Paulbearers were Kurtiss Lindquist, Kevin Lindquist, Duane Lindquist, Troy Lindquist, Palmer Berg and Tim Jensen.
She was born June 27, 1910 in Saum to Edwin and Regina (Johnson) Boness. She was raised and educated in Saum. She worked at the café in Kelliher and then lived in New Richland for a time.
She married Lawrence Lindquist Dec. 30, 1931 in Kelliher. They lived in Kelliher until 1945 and moved to Bemidji. They built a house north of Bemidji in 1948 and lived there until 1985.
She was a president of the Northern school PTA. She was very active in churchwork, singing in the church choir and she loved to teach Sunday School. She traveled with her husband who did logging and trucking for construction in the area. She also did housework for people, she sold her baked bread and did babysitting for many people in the area.
In 1987, she was elected Logging Queen for Buena Vista Logging Days.
She is survived by two sons, Erwing (Marlene) Lindquist of Garrison Arlen (Marlis) Lindquist of Coon Rapids; a daughter, Melverna (Hank) Watkins of Fridley; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a nephew and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1982, her daughter, Tanette; a brother, Earl Boness; a sister, Gladys Rogers and a nephew, Jeff Boness.
