Lyle D. Clayton, 70, Grand Forks, ND died Feb. 26, 2010 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks after a long battle against cancer.
He was born Oct. 28, 1939 in Turtle River to Ralph and Helen (Michalek) Clayton. He attended school in Grand Forks and was a 1957 graduate of Central High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served four years and was honorably discharged from military service in 1961.
He married Louise Pich Dec. 17, 1975 in Las Vegas, NV. He was employed in the construction trade by Swangler House Movers, Valley Contracting, H. E. Everson Construction, Flint and Phillipi Construction, and lastly at Baukol Builders. Stockcar racing was a big part of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; children, Brian (Angel) Armbrust and Carey (Josh) Overstreet, both of Lakewood, CO, Lyndsy (Chris) Chavarria, Aurora, CO; five grandchildren; brothers, Ron (Marge) Clayton of Thompson, ND, Glen (Jean) Clayton of Grand Forks, ND and a sister, Darlene (Tom) Adam of Balm Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Todd Adam.
