Rebecca Harriet Hensel, 17, of Shevlin, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
Rebecca Harriet Hensel, 17, of Shevlin, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Sell Lake Community Church, rural Shevlin with Rev. Arlo Feiock officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Sell Lake Community Church Cemetery. Arrangements are with Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji, Minn.
She was born Nov. 1, 1992, to Allen & Heidi Hork Hensel in Bemidji. She grew up near Itasca State Park and attended school in Bemidji and was currently a 10th grader at Bagley High School. She enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, dancing, parties, family gatherings, bowling, swimming and biking. She attended the Special Olympics where she participated in swimming, bowling and track. She loved the outdoors where she spent time with her family fishing, boating, canoeing, camping and telling stories around the campfire.
She is survived by her father, Allen (Lisa) Hensel of Shevlin; mother Heidi (Charles) Johnson of Bemidji; siblings, Elaura and Ethan Hensel of Shevlin; step-siblings, Lucas, Rachel, Lori, Brandon, Emily, Mike, Brian, Scott, Robbie and Carrie; paternal grandmother, Ruby Hensel of Park Rapids; maternal grandparents, Alvin and Renee Hork of Plymouth, Minn., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Mark Hensel, and two cousins.
