Alfred Benedict Bedeau

Alfred “Jackson” Benedict Bedeau, whose name is Mino Ginew Giishigad, which means Good Golden Eagle Day, 66, of Brooklyn Center, Minn., died after a short battle with cancer, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Old School House, Ponsford. A visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Little Earth Gymnasium, 2501 Cedar Ave. S, Minneapolis. Burial will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, at St. Theodore’s Cemetery in Ponsford.

He worked as a short-order cook and stockman for Parke-Davis; Merck, Sharp and Dome as well as Target. Along with spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, casinos and bowling.

He is survived by his daughters, Toni (Terry) Gross of Remer, Minn. and Lynnette (Derek) Bedeau of Red Lake; son, William (Terri) Bedeau of Red Lake; mother of his children, Leogene English; sisters, Henrietta Bedeau of Bagley and Leona “Charlie Brown” Flores of Minneapolis and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters, and his son, Alfred Jr.
