Marsha Angela Bourcy, 55, of Bemidji, died Friday, August 21, 2009, at her home.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Aardahl Lutheran Church in Bemidji with Rev. Mark Papke-Larson officiating, followed by a luncheon. A memorial visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. prayer service and time of sharing remembrances of Marsha at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji. Interment will be at the Alida Cemetery in Alida at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Karl Anderson officiating with coffee to follow at the Alida Lutheran Church.

Marsha was born September 21, 1953, in Fosston, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter and Myrtle (Teigland) Bourcy. She was raised and educated in Alida where she attended Elementary School. She graduated from Bagley High School in 1971 and attended Bemidji State University. Marsha lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for a time. She returned to Bemidji and worked as the Advertising Director for the Buyline.

Marsha loved life. She loved her “critters.” She loved her flowers. She devoured books by the bag full. Her calendar year was deer season to deer season. She was fast, so fast that the things she did seemed effortless. But, of all the things she relished, above all else she loved people. She gathered us to her; she embraced us. Her gift to us was that she saw us as better than we are and made us better because of it.

She is survived by her mother, Myrtle Bourcy of Bemidji; Sister, Myrna Bourcy of New Brighton, MN; Life Partner, Melvin Himmelright of Nary, MN; 2 Step-sons, Darcy Hjelmeland and Wesley Hjelmeland both of Winnipeg, Canada; Aunt, Anna Mae Teigland of Bagley; Brother-in-law, Allan Dela of Ham Lake, MN; Sister-in-Law, Paulette Willet of Laporte, MN; Nieces and Nephews, LaDonna Bourcy, Michael (Tara) Bourcy, Lynette (Dan) Craven, Aren (Danielle) Dela, Alexandra Dela, Samuel Dela, Jaime Lambert, Jon David Clementson, DeWayne Clementson and Connor Craven; The Himmelright Family; The Bourcy and Teigland Family Cousins; Extraordinary Friends; Her beloved Pets – Max and Millie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Bourcy; brother, DeWayne Bourcy grandparents; aunts and uncles.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Char Franck, Caroline Goehring, Andra Vaughn, Julie Iverson, Debbie Drong and Kathy Mostad.

Memorials are preferred to North Country Hospice, Whipstaff Ranch Animal Rescue, Alida Cemetery Fund, Aardahl Lutheran Church or a charity of donor’s choice.

A Message to Her Family.........We were saddened to hear of Marsha's passing. It seems we just saw her healthy and happy. It will always be remembered how gracious she was to our Sister when our Brother-in-law died. She was an amazing Aunt to Dwayne and Paulette's children and Grandkids. Please accept our sincere condolences as you grieve. This Lady will be missed by many. God Bless........Tom and Candy Westrum

Marsha was such a sweet and loving person. I cannot remember how many years ago I met her, I think it has been a liftime, but she always had a smile and warm greeting. She will be sadly missed by many. Bless you Marsha and thank you for all you have done.
