Your voice and written words maybe silent, however your spirit will live on in those that seek justice. May you journey on to a better place. Thank you for the great conversations we shared. Dennis & Diana Kihlstadius

Susan S. As Dale G., above, said - Bill was a courageous man, a champion for justice and for those who have no voice. I admired him deeply. He will be sorely missed.

Bill will be deeply missed, I read the Ojibwe News every week that he published. He gave my brother Jim a chance to work at his newspaper that led to a very successful career in the newspaper business allowing my brother to work in a variety of newspapers through out the country. Thanks Bill for being there and providing knowledge and opportunity.

As I look around, I can't see anyone or anything that can fill the shoes and void Mr. "Bill" Lawrence left. The Native community and non-native community has lost a courageous and champion of those that had no voice or outlet to show injustices the "Light of Day; I can't see another like Mr. "Bill" Lawrence coming along anytime soon and becoming as visible as he challenged those that ran roughshod over people rights. I will miss Mr. William "Bill" Lawrence and I know he is already missed by countless others. humbly and sincerely bedonahkwaad ,

I'm sorry to read on the Pioneer web site that Bill Lawrence had died. I saw him one year ago this month at a BSU reunion for the Snobirds in Chandler, AZ. I was hoping to see him again this year. We had a good conversation and talked about many memories during those days in the 60's To the family of Bill's, you have my sympathy and God Bless to all. A past friend from Cass Lake, Minnesota, Larry Engebretson
