Memorial Day observance to be held
Blackduck High School and the Blackduck American Legion and Auxiliary Post 372 of Blackduck are commemorating Memorial Day May 28. Events begin with a program honoring veterans and their families at 10 a.m. in the Blackduck High School gymnasium.

At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Nov. 10, Sgt. Jesse Grabow witnessed a vehicle leave westbound I-94 near Alexandria and enter Lake Latoka.

Saving lives is what they do. Their compassion is well known but seldom recognized. They care for those who are involved in all types of medical emergencies. They are friends, family members, business owners and neighbors who save lives on a daily basis.

Track News - Bulldogs perform well at Beaver relays
Shaughnessy Ties Team and School Records The NKB track team finally got back on the track to compete April 20 in the BSU Beaver Relays at Bemidji High School. Eleven schools sent athletes to compete under the mostly sunny, spring skies.
Area alumni men’s basketball tournament a success
The second annual area alumni men’s basketball tournament was held at the Blackduck High School April 14 as a fundraiser for the Blackduck boy’s basketball program. Seven teams with players from all across the country showed up to battle it out.

Almost ready for the season 
The picnic shelter at Pine Tree Park is still in it's winter stage with the picnic tables inside. With the park due to open next month, Blackduck city crews will be out, getting ready for the season to begin.

Clean up of old timber at Pine Tree Park in Blackduck brought down some large trees, some of which were to be split as firewood. The more substantial trees were sold through the bidding process.

Save the track program at BHS 
An event is planned to save the track program at Blackduck High School and everyone is encouraged to take healthy strides and help our students to continue a sport which offers lifelong benefits.
Informational meeting set for Hines Township 
Hines Township will be holding an informational meeting on May 9 at 6 p.m. in the town hall. The purpose of the meeting is to inform residents of a new public access that is going to be built on Blackduck Lake.
